New design for Port-au-Prince Cathedral to be revealed soon
Donations from Governors and other individuals reach $200,000 to rebuild the Cathedral of Our Lady of Assumption in Port-Au-Prince.
The actual design for the new Port-au-Prince Cathedral is expected to be revealed to the public within the next few weeks.
As you may remember, during the 2010 Earthquake, the roof and the towers flanking the main entrance of Port-au-Prince Cathedral collapsed. The earthquake also destroyed the nunciature and the archdiocesan offices, killing Archbishop Joseph Serge Miot and Vicar General Charles Benoit. more »

Royal Oasis, 5-Star Hotel is set to open in December 2012 in in Petion-Ville, Haiti
We just learned that the new luxurious hotel Royal Oasis will be open for business this year. According to Haiti Tourism Minister, Stephanie Villedrouin, the 5-Star Hotel will start its operation beginning December 12, 2012, just on time to make your reservation for Chirstmas. The announcement was made, followed a meeting between Villedrouin and Spanish hotel company Occidental Hotels & Resorts, which is managing entity of the project. more »

A few pictures capturing the passage of Tropical storm Isaac in Haiti
The visit of the tropical storm Isaac in Haiti was definitely not welcome because we were not prepared. Haiti's Office of Civil Protection reported that at least seven people were killed as result of the storm, including a young man who died in a landslide in DonDon, in northern Haiti. The other people who died include a 10-year-old girl in Thomazeau and a community north of Port-au-Prince. Also, the Haitian government reported that a 7-year-old boy was electrocuted in the Artibonite Valley in Northwest Haiti, and United Nations police said that a woman died in Jacmel when a tree fell on her. more »

Happy anniversary to the city of Jeremie
As we celebrate Saint Louis Roi de France in the city of Jeremie, it is also the date that six other cities are celebrated, namely, Lully, Mirebalais, Pointe-a-Raquettes, Quartier-Morin, Saint-Louis du Nord, and Saint-Louis du Sud.
The Capital city of the department of Grand'Anse, Jeremie has a population of about 31,000, based on the 2003 census. The city of the poets, Jeremie is home tonumerous writers, poets, and historians. Etzer Vilaire (1872-1951) and Emile Roumer (1903-1988) are just a few of the poets born in Jeremie. more »

This is something that many of us could only dream of at a certain time. The idea of entering Haiti National Palace during the Duvalier period was something many of us could not even think of. However, in this video, you will be able to see some of the most secret parts of the National Palace.
This video footage is really exceptional. Although the Palace was damaged by the 2010 earthquake that killed over 200,000 people in Haiti, the video was able to capture most of the story. more »

The Legendary Emeline Michel
Emeline Michel is known as the queen of Haitian music or the goddess of Creole music. She was born in Gonaives, Haiti. It can be said that she started her singing career at the choir of her local church when she used to sing gospel music. She was brought up in a Christian family and therefore did not miss to attend church. This helped greatly in the growth of her music career. Carimi of Carlo Viuex, Richard Cave and Mickael Guirand

The name Joseph Dieudonné Larose is very common in both Haiti and Canada where he has spent a better time of his music career. Joseph Dieudonné Larose is a celebrated musician from Haiti and one that has produced great music for the Haitian Music industry. He is a member of the missile 727 Band which comprises of DP Express, Shoogar Combo, Dixieband and D.P. Express.
