The Legendary Emeline Michel
Emeline Michel is known as the queen of Haitian music or the goddess of Creole music. She was born in Gonaives, Haiti. It can be said that she started her singing career at the choir of her local church when she used to sing gospel music. She was brought up in a Christian family and therefore did not miss to attend church. This helped greatly in the growth of her music career. She is a renowned personality both in Haiti and at the international level.
After she had completing her education when in Haiti, Emeline Michel was given an opportunity to undertake further studies in the Detroit Jazz Centre which is based in Michigan. This added immense skills to her music career and as she was returning home, she had become a professional musician. The first album she released was the 'Douvanjou ka leve' which is translated to 'may the sun rise' became a hit in Haiti and globally.
One of the reasons that make her very famous and gather many passionate fans, is that she is has an amazing energy when it comes to performing on stage. Emeline Michel is known to be a very versatile vocalist as well as an inspiring performer. The kind of music she sings is deep and touches the audience at an individual level. The message tends to be very profound.
