Every year, on 25th August the people of Saint-Louis-du-Nord celebrate feast of Saint Louis Roi de France. The majority of the residents are Christian, however, practices of voodoo is not very uncommon.

Unlike other cities in Haiti, the cleanliness of this town is very impressive. There is a small open market where agricultural products and almost all other essentials are available. The town enjoys tropical climate similar to most other parts of Haiti. The town is well connected from Port-de-Paix by bus services that transport people over the 7 miles to Saint-Louis du Nord.
