The Day of the Dead in Haiti, a blend between voodoo and Christianity
Here is a video of the activities making the day of the dead in Haiti on November 1st, 2014. It is an annual celebration that takes place in Haiti and the Haitian diaspora all over the world.
As it is the case every year, this weekend, hundreds of people gathered at the cemetery in Downtown Port-au-Prince to honor the dead. They gathered around the large black cross representing the spirit of death "Baron Samedi."
Some of the voodoo followers put plates of food in front of the cross to serve the dead. The Day of the Dead in Haiti is very interesting as it combines rituals from both Christianity and voodoo practices
