New Anti-government protests erupted in Haiti

The protest movement continues in the streets of Port-au-Prince.

The second place finisher Jude Celestin in the presidential run has not yet announced his decision whether he would participate in the final runoff on December 27th. The clock is ticking, but Celestine along with seven other contestants (G8) for the President's seat has not made any decision on participation. They have given an ultimatum to the CEP (Provisional Electoral Council). They are of opinion that no honest, transparent and credible election is possible by the Joseph Michel Martelly administration in conjunction with the present corrupt CEP along with the support of present Police Nationale d'Haïti (PNH). They have also demanded a transitional government which would be empowered to make necessary revisions in the constitution to hold credible free and fair election within next 24 months. Meanwhile, Protest against the ruling party has almost become a daily occurrence because all the opposition parties are of opinion that the October 25 election and the published results are nothing but the outcome of an "electoral coup d'état," orchestrated by Martelly and his men to make their candidate Jovenel Moise a winner.
