This was a State funeral and many people were present to say "Au Revoir" to the former President. We noticed the presence of Former dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier who was present as well.
Leslie François Saint Roc Manigat was born on August 16, 1930 and died on June 27, 2014.
He became president, following an election held by a military controlled election in January 1988. He won the election by a majority of 50.29 percent of the votes. It was estimated taht less then 10 percent of the opulation participated in that election. Leslie Manigat was overthrown in a Cout D'Etat orchestrated by General Henri Namphy on June 20, 1988
One of the most important achievement of Leslie François Saint Roc Manigat is his academic skills. He was an educator. He has written several articles for newspapers such as Le Nouvellistre and Le Matin.
