Finally Clifford Brant appeared in front of a judge to answer accusation of kidnapping.

Clifford Brandt was one among the 329 inmates who escaped from a Haitian prison in August 2014. Within a week of his escape, he was found and captured near the Haitian border town of Cornillon/ Grand Bois, crossing the frontier into the Dominican Republic. Brandt is a member of a wealthy family in Haiti. He was arrested for being the leader of a powerful kidnapping ring. The Head of the National Palace secret security Inspector Bellefleur and a former police inspector Mr. Edner Comé were his accomplice and Brandt was a good friend of President Martelly. Brandt was arrested on charges of kidnapping two young persons Coralie (23) and Nicolas Moscoso (24). Later the abductees were found alive by the Haitian police in an abandoned bathroom at a house that Clifford Brand took them following the capture.
