Voodoo Cleansing Ritual in seau d'eau haiti
The time has come once again for Haitians believers to go to seau d'eau.
Believers of Haiti's most celebrated patron saint, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, were all in the Saut d'Eau waterfall on Tuesday to pay their tribute. They also took the opportunity to make new requests. Worshipers prayed and performed dances.
This is an important site in Haiti for both voodoo as well as Catholic believer.
The festivities that mark Our Lady of Carmel are usually held from July 14-16. Main activity during this time is bathing in the waters of the falls while asking Erzulie for favors. This waterfall is also considered a sacred place for the lwa Damballah and Ayida Wedo
