Violent protests marking November 18 over preliminary election results
Here is the video of the protest taking place on November 18. Violent protests marking November 18 over preliminary election results.
Jovenel Moise is set to face a run-off election on December 27, 2015, because, in spite of massive corroborative acts, Moise could not secure 50% plus vote benchmark, or a lead of over 25% of the votes. It is interesting to note that Jovenel Moise, as per the published result, came to the top with 32.8% of the votes, while an exit poll on the election day (October 25) placed him on the fourth place with a meager 6% vote. During the same poll, 82% voters had said they consider the election was fair, there was no fraud. However, on November 5th, after the publication of result, 90% of the same individuals had said they disagree with the earlier statement. There should be some neutral intervention or investigation to restore people's confidence that their votes had been truly accounted for.
