Haitian Street children used by gang as informers to kill Haitian Police
Here is the video of an actual confession by a Haitian Street child as to how street gangs have been using him as an informer to track the position of the polioce which are being targeted for assassination
A recent video widely circulated on the web shows how one street child from the capital city was used by some criminals as informers in the recent assassinations of several police officers. One particular boy reveals how he was paid by a criminal gang (only $4!) to watch and inform the movements of those police officers to the gang members. The boy has admitted to informing about the activities and movement of 5 slain police officers in the region of Croix-des-Bouquets and Ganthier. When the boy was captured by the police, he was working for an armed gang that has base in Carrefour Marin, in Port-au-Prince.
Since the Haitian labor laws prevent employers to pay domestic servants (restaveks) below 15 years of age, many host families dismiss them before they reach that age or they are often kicked out of the homes. Dismissed and runaway restaveks and the children, who became orphans following the earthquake of 2010, make up a significant proportion of Haiti's street children who are often forced to work in prostitution and criminal acts by violent criminal gangs.
