Desarmes in Haiti by La Bonne Nouvelle

A Rehabilitation and Extension Project of Desarmes for Potable Water is presently under way. The project has been split between two municipal boundaries, the 3rd and 4th sections (4th sections has a larger number of springs) of the Verrettes Commune. It is working towards improving the amount of water and sanitation services available to the 2,002 households over the next twenty years.

The Haitian government along with many non-government organizations and MCC had realized the importance of creating and developing towns outside the capital city. They understood that the earthquake damage was so immense because the city of Port-au-Prince was very much overcrowded during the earthquake.
