Carnaval Des Fleurs En Haiti, 2014

Here is a report of the 2014 Carnaval des Fleurs in Haiti. This is an event that usually takes place in the Month of July. President Michel Martelly had revived this event that started with the Duvalier Government.

The Government of Martelly has designated July 30 and 31 no-work days for the celebration of Carnaval des Fleurs.

According to official reports, this year (2014), the Carnival des Fleurs has seen a three day of Carnival success as hundreds of thousands packed downtown Port-au-Prince for the festivities.

The three-day celebration is, according to the government, to bring more tourist dollars to the Haitian economy. So far, the government feels that they have been very successfup with this event.
