Jean-Bertrand Aristide told supporters to vote Maryse Narcisse

On Wednesday, September 30, the twice ousted Haitian President and the founder of the political faction 'Fanmi Lavalas' Jean-Bertrand Aristide has advised his supporters gathered outside his residence to support Dr. Maryse Narcisse as the presidential candidate in the October 25 election. Dr. Narcisse is a medical doctor and a long-time advocate for democracy in Haiti who has always raised her voice for justice and equity. She has always engaged herself in the improvement of community-based health care and education for all Haitians. After Aristide's exile in 2004, she became his personal spokesperson and has remained instrumental in creating an international voice for the Lavalas movement. The date 'September 30' is an important date for the former President Aristide because on this day in the year 1991, he was ousted by a military coup-d-eta and fled Haiti to Venezuela on his way to exile. This was the first incident for the former President to speak in public since his return from exile in 2011.
