Bataille de Vertières - Message of President Michel Martelly

Here is the message of President Michel Martelly on the occasion of the 211th anniversary of the Battle of Vertieres.

I just learned that President Martelly did not participate in any ceremony on the occasion. He just came in and placed flowers at the feet of the heroes and left.

Other information related to the historic day Battle of Vertieres. there has been several protest against the current government. In Port-au-Prince, Cayes, Grand'Anse and other areas, there are major protests currently under way against the government. There are reports also of shooting at the protest in Port-au-Prince. There are allegations that Depute Arnel Belizaire was involved in the shooting
