Welcome to Cotes de Fer, Haiti

Côtes-de-Fer is located on a 190.36 square km area in the Southeast of Haiti. The place also nicknamed by "coast of beauty" is surrounded by 'Bainet' on the east, the borough of Aquin & Miragoâne on the west, and Petit-Goâve and the Caribbean Sea on the north and south respectively. It lies at the mouth of the River Côtes-de-Fer, which forms the boundary with the Southern Department.

The area with its 70,000 population has six rural sections-- Gris-gris, Labiche, Amazon, Bras de Gauche, Boucan Bellier and Jamais Vue. The inhabitants mainly live on fishing. Here, you can find large varieties of season fish, lobsters and conchs. In the mountain area they grow large quantities of cachiment, corossole, mango, papaya, grenadine, sapodilla, etc. Agricultural products like banana, potato, corn, petit mille, peas, yam and cassava are grown for local consumption. more »
