Kompa Music
The most popular type of music in Haiti is Kompa, sometimes called Kompa or Konpa. This music genre was introduced to the Haitian population in the mid 1950s by a Nemour jean-Baptiste, a talented saxophonist and song writer. Since the birth of Kompa, it has gone through many changes, including the introduction of electric guitar and other instruments. The Mini Djazz movement in Haiti was mainly responsible for those changes
