Jacque Sauveur Jean is a very popular Haitian personality and is known as the "Prince of Love" when it comes to Haitian music. He is a successful singer and has recorded multiple albums since the late 1980's to 1990's. Jean earned the love of his fans by actively joining several Haitian activities. Because of his activeness he was respected regardless of his roots and background.

Jacque Sauveur Jean originally came from the Northern part of Haiti and because of his exceptional talent in singing; he was able to record at least 13 albums. His music is well known because of its sound, culture and its roots that were poured into his songs. He is now known as "Jakito" who is said to be a patriot who wants to serve his land in his own ways.

Because of his popularity, Jacque Sauveur Jean was able to meet different personalities, be it in the field of music and even politics. It was said that he developed a close friendship with Michel Martelly who was then the president of Kompa and now the president of the Republic. Since then, he called himself "The Minister of kompa."
