First Mass at New Notre Dame d'Haiti Church in Little Haiti
On Saturday, February 1, 2014 the new Notre Dame D'Haiti Church in Little Haiti had its first Mass. This was the first Catholic Church built by the Haitian Community in South Florida.
Presiding was Archbishop Thomas Wenski and many other religious authorities. One of the gestures was the handing of a key of the new Notre Dame D'Haiti Church by Archbishop Thomas Wenski over to the priest of Notre Dame D'Haiti
The church cost $5 million to build and out of that, $3.2 million was donated by Haitian parishioners and community members.
Father Reginald Jean-Mary said that Notre Dame d'Haiti Church is his heart.
