La Canadienne Michaëlle Jean à la tête de la Francophonie
Here is the video of the Canadian Michaëlle Jean who will be heading la Francophonie starting January, 2015.
Jean was born in Port-au-Prince and was raised between Port-au-Prince and the city of Jacmel, her mother's hometown.
After her father was arrested and tortured in 1965 by the Duvalier regime, the family fled to Canada
Michaelle Jean received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian and Hispanic languages and literature from the University of Montreal, She has a Master degree in comparative literature.
She speaks six languages including French, English, Spanish, Italian, and Haitian Creole and Portuguese.
