Lemon City or Little Haiti? Both are Correct. Little Haiti began as an agricultural community, Lemon City (LC), due to its lemon trees. Later, Haitian immigrants settled there in large numbers. In time LC became "Little Port-au-Prince", amended to "Little Haiti".

Little Haiti has evolved from a poor to middle-class neighborhood. Although it is widely-known as Little Haiti, Lemon City endures because of the cemetery where remains of Caribbean ancestors were found. The discovery led to the founding of The Lemon City Cemetery Corporation.
