President Jocelerme Privert interview on Radio Magic 9

In a recent interview on Radio Magic 9, the Provisional President Jocelerme Privert said he has no intention to disrespect the accord signed between him and the former President Michel Martelly. He spoke about his proximity with the former President Aristide and said he has equal good relationships with other former Heads of the State like President Martelly and President Rene Preval. Since he became the provisional President, Privert has maintained constant touch with the two candidates of the final runoff, Jovenel Moise and Jude Celestin. Privert rejected every allegation when he was asked about his involvement in the massacre of La Scierie in Saint-Marc town. We might remember that in connection with the departure of Aristide on February 29, 2004 following a coup d'état, about 44 Lavalas opponents were killed, few days before the departure. Seven people were arrested, including former Prime Minister Yvon Neptune and former Interior Minister Jocelerme Privert. However, none of them were convicted, nor even tried in connection with the La Scierie incident. Former Prime Minister Neptune had objected to the term 'massacre', because he considered that was a fight between two different sides. Ramicose, which was an organization close to the opposition, fought with Bale Wouze, which was a popular organization belonging to Lavalas.
